What is an Adjective?
An adjective is a describing word. It adds meaning to a noun or pronoun.
- A big house
- A small dog
- She is cute
“Big” is an adjective, it describes “boy” (noun)
“Small” is an is an adjective, it describes “dog” (noun)
“Cute” is an adjective, it describes “She” (pronoun)
These are all descriptive adjectives, they tell us about the quality of a person or thing.
