“Been to” or “Gone to”?
“Been to” means that we have gone somewhere and have now come back.
- I have been to Germany five times.
- Have you been to Germany before?
“Gone to” means that we have gone somewhere and are still there.
- Andrew is not home, he has gone to France.
- Jack has gone to the bank, he will be home soon.
